Facts, sources and context
Reports include source links and event dates. An official statement is distinguished from an independently established finding. Allegations are identified as allegations.
Verification
Contested or consequential claims require primary records and independent, reputable corroboration. Two websites carrying the same news-agency report are not two independent sources. Stories without sufficient evidence are held.
Neutral language
We do not use sensational headlines, unverified rumours, partisan promotion or fabricated quotations. Reporting on health or other sensitive subjects is not presented as personal advice.
Images and video
We use owned material or material with verified reuse rights. Older visuals are dated and contextualized. AI imagery and editorial illustrations are not presented as evidence of actual events.
Corrections
When a correction changes the meaning of a report, we explain what changed and when. Material changes are recorded; minor spelling fixes are treated separately.
