A Nepal News report published on October 22, citing security agencies, said 3,585 passengers used free bus services operating in the Kathmandu Valley during Dashain.

According to police headquarters, three Nepal Police vehicles served 1,406 passengers on October 20 and 21. An Armed Police Force spokesperson said its two buses carried 2,179 passengers over three days beginning October 19.

The report said the buses were operated to help people travel when public transport was less available during the festival. These figures were supplied by the agencies; Hamroclassified did not conduct an independent passenger count.
