The Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage says it provisionally set aside US$21.6 million for Nepal following the Bhote Koshi floods. Its extraordinary Board meeting on October 22 also agreed to pilot an approach allowing Nepal to submit a funding request outside the standard submission period.

Third World Network’s independent October 23 meeting account says the total includes US$1.6 million in oversight fees. Board consideration and approval of a funding request are still required.

Setting money aside, approving a request and delivering funds to communities are separate stages. The cited decision does not establish completed disbursement or distribution.
